So heres what is NOT working with my MP600R printer: Quality Media, and other printer dialog settings. It wasnt until just recently that I was able to get the printer working with OSX 10.5.
I find the Canon support for this printer, which was over 7,000, sucks beyond belief. Still no luck. I went on the Apple website and was directed to Canons web site. Ocr Software Snow Leopard Driver Purportedly OSFrom the Canon web site I downloaded a new driver purportedly OS 10.6 compatible. Now there is next to nothing happening when I try to print. Ocr Software Snow Leopard Drivers And AnyQuestion: I wan tto uninstall both drivers and any associated files. Ocr Software Snow Leopard Mac OS 10On my PC it would be no problem, but on the iMac OS 10.6 I can not find a way to uninstall. How does one identify the correct files, drivers, etc How does one uninstall them Thank you, Lucca. Especially for those installing a wireless printer but facing an empty list for Canon IJ Network, heres what Ive written down after installation of a PIXMA iP4000R on 10.5 Leopard, a long time ago. And maybe this is also required for normal use, like to see the supply levels -- but I dont see those on demand anyway, though the printer does warn me when ink or paper runs out.). But maybe all that is needed is already included (see also LibraryPrintersCanonBJPrinterUtilities ) and all thats to be done is go to System Preferences, Print Fax to add a new printer. Here, go to More Printers, wait until Searching for installed printer drivers completes and select Canon IJ Network, which should then detect your printer. Its terribly slow though, but I did not investigate that yet. The workaround was to install the slightly older CUPS driver available directly form Canon. See link above. Something is broken with the newest drivers as distributed by Apple. I did so (mx700soxsns10ea7-3.dmg from Canons website) and now the scanner works. Annoying to have to spend so much time tweaking the system though. Im hoping Canon QUICKLY pulls their heads out on this one as they could have been working on a solution for months now. Thats really great that means we are having to downgrade some new IMacs to 10.5.8 in order to make use of the printers. The driver itself is indeed present (so that the printer can be connected through USB), but the button More Printers in the Advanced section was not present until I reinstalled the package (iP4000R 483.pkg of july 2007 ) after deleting installation check Thanks for the hint. I know there used to be a force delete available but I cant seem to find that. So you have to open the.dmg file, copy the.pkg to your hd first, then right click and choose Show package contents. If it doesnt work, check files and folder permissions Do you have an admin account. My theory is that 64-bit apps (most of the built-in ones, for example) do NOT work properly but any lingering 32-bit apps (Firefox, for example) will work properly.
